Q Consequence of the tax rebate

How will the $600 tax rebate impact seniors who receive benefits such as Medicaid, food stamps and SCRIE?

The proposed tax rebate that the government intends to offer is still being discussed in Congress. It is important to note that at this time, it is planned as a tax rebate which means that the recipient will have had to be a tax payer who filed in 2007.

A tax rebate is declarable as income.

The proposed rebate should have no effect on Medicaid recipients or the recipients of other entitlements if they had filed taxes.

Of course, this is a question that an accountant or tax preparer needs to answer once the government decides what are the circumstances of the proposed tax rebate.

New York City residents who have income of less than 40,000. per year can all 311 for help in preparing tax returns.
