School Project Information

Our class is doing a project on prejudice and my group has chosen to focus on homophobia. We were hoping for some information concerning your struggle for equal rights and were wondering if you could answer a few questions. 1. Where are the most homophobic and homosexual elderly communities in the United States? 2. How do communities respond to GLBT centers being established in the community? 3. What are some specific examples of prejudice in nursing homes? 4. What are the programs of centers and programs that have been established? 5. Do you think future generations will be more accepting of elderly homosexuals?

Response from Dr. Kooden

Dear Classroom Project Co-ordinator, You have asked some very important questions for which I do not have answers. Call SAGE at 212 741-2247 and speak to a program director who can give you specifics. After talking with her/him, write again with the questions that I might be able to answer more fully.
